I often reflect on which of my students I would want on my team if I was a hiring manager or starting my own company, and typically there might be 1-2 students per semester who I would trust. Allie would clearly make the cut. Here are three reasons why: Allie is a joy to work with. She is motivated but not overbearing, extremely talented yet humble, and takes genuine interest and pride in successfully accomplishing whatever task is at hand. Allie has learned how to learn—a skill that few college students, let alone adults, have ever fully developed. This makes her adaptable and successful in any situation or environment. If you challenge her, she does not complain or back down, but instead finds the motivation and resolve to become better than she was before. I witnessed this when she was my student, and I know that her intrinsic motivation to succeed will translate to professional growth and advancement throughout her career. In the 12 years I have been a professor, I estimate that Allie is in the top 3% of undergraduate students I have encountered in terms of intelligence and motivation
